Will French Jets, Additional US Arms Help Change the Tide in Ukraine?
Update on the conflict in Ukraine for June 9, 2024…
– The collective West, as a substitute for useful military assistance such as artillery systems, ammunition, armor, and air defenses, continue to announce transfers of impractical hardware including aging warplanes that will take years to be deployed properly;
– In addition to US-made F-16s, France is now announcing it will transfer Mirage 2000-5 warplanes, antiquated 1980s airframes necessitating different training, maintenance, and sustainment requirements than F-16s;
– The addition of different airframes represents the continued complication of Ukrainian training, maintenance, logistics, and sustainment efforts, similar to complications surrounding Ukraine’s attempt to field multiple types of Western main battle tanks;
– Western nations continue “training” Ukrainian conscripts despite Western training proven demonstratably insufficient for the type of warfare taking place in Ukraine;
– Attempts to bolster ammunition production remain at the contractual stage, with future orders depending on production facilities that have yet to be built;
