German defence company Rheinmetall has requested approval to export heavy weapons to Ukraine. Rheinmetall has sought permission to supply 100 Marder type infantry fighting vehicles to Ukrainian forces, as per Reuters. If Rheinmetall’s request is approved, it would mark the first shipment of heavy weapons from Germany to Ukraine.
