U.S. Marines and Sailors with 3d Reconnaissance Battalion, 3d Marine Division, conduct an inspection dive at White Beach, Okinawa, Japan, Sept. 28, 2020. The 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion (3rd Recon) conducts amphibious and ground reconnaissance in support of the 3rd Marine Division and Marine Forces Pacific (MarForPac), operating in the commander’s areas of influence. The Marines and Sailors consistently demonstrate their proficiency in dive operations; during the dive they assisted the U.S. Navy by ensuring the USS Halsey’s propellers were fully operational.
