Too close to Russia: how people live in the Border Village in the Sumy Region

Border Village in the Sumy Region

Velyka Pysarivka is a village in the Okhtyrka district, from which the Belgorod region in Russia can be seen.

Russian attack on the Sumy region on the morning of February 24th started. At 4:20, border guards heard the first explosions. Soon, the Russian military entered the village and moved on — to Trostianets and Okhtyrka.

Although the region has been liberated from the Russians for more than a month, locals are still worried that they might be hit by a shell flying from people that used to be close as relatives can be.
