Ukraine War
Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Kazakhstan for a state visit on September 14, his first known trip abroad since 2020. Xi was welcomed by his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev upon his arrival in Nur-Sultan. Beijing’s firm statement of intent came just before Xi met Russian President Putin on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Uzbekistan. On the other hand, Kazakhstan sees Xi’s first abroad trip to their country as a great signal of security in Central Asia.
