Update on Russian military operations in Ukraine for May 28, 2022:
– Ukrainian defenses begin collapsing across Donbas;
– Salient around Popasnya continues to expand in all directions;
– Russian forces take Lyman and continue advance toward Sloviansk;
– Western media begins shifting to panic over Ukraine’s prospects;
– West moving toward sending multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS);
– Western MLRS give no advantage to Ukraine over Russia;
– MLRS were in Ukraine’s arsenal in late February but have since been reduced;
– Russian MLRS are equal or better than Western systems and also more numerous;
– Pentagon admits Russian making progress despite most Western weapons arriving on the front line.
