Ukraine’s Counteroffensive has Stalled
After a month of offensive operations, Ukraine’s counteroffensive has stalled because Russian fortifications proved to be much stronger than anticipated. The combination of minefields, artillery and airstrikes forced the Ukrainian Army to spread out and downsize attacks, and often without armored vehicles, with a bigger focus on infantry for small group infiltrations to bypass Russian defenses. The biggest challenge for Ukraine at this moment is how to deal with local Russian counterattacks.
