Russian Drone Downs Ukrainian Su-25 at Ukrainian Air Base
The war in Ukraine is marked by relentless cycles of attacks and counterattacks. Throughout the conflict, both sides have continually targeted each other’s assets. Recently, reports emerged that Ukraine successfully downed a Su-57 PAK FA fighter jet in southern Russia, marking the first strike against Moscow’s latest stealth aircraft. However, shortly afterward, Russia launched an effective counterattack.
On June 11, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Russian military used Lancet munitions to destroy a Su-25 attack aircraft belonging to the Ukrainian Air Force at Dolgintsevo Airport, near Kryvyi Rih. This incident underscores the menacing role of Russian loitering munitions and raises an important question: Will Ukrainian fighters and planes ever be safe from the threat posed by these drones?
