Russia has deployed long-range nuclear-capable bombers and fighter jets to Syria for naval drills in the Mediterranean Sea. Russian Military warplanes will be carrying the country’s hypersonic missiles during the drill. Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu arrived in Syria to oversee the naval drills. The deployment of Russian aircrafts and bombers is seen as a part of a surge of Russian military activity in the Middle East.
