Russia Finally Finds Counter To HIMARS Shoot & Scoot Capability
The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine has led to both sides coming up with new strategies and countermeasures to gain an upper hand. According to the Russian MoD, they were able to neutralize three MLRS launchers, including two HIMARS and one Alder MLRS.
On January 1, a video was released by the Military Informant Telegram channel, claiming to show HIMARS under attack from artillery rockets that were dispersing cluster munitions near Konstantinovka. Although the launcher is said to have been destroyed, the video evidence is not entirely conclusive as it only shows submunition strikes around the launcher. However, it is highly likely that Russia successfully targeted the HIMARS before it could retreat completely from the launch area. This is quite an achievement considering the challenges involved in engaging a HIMARS. This raises the question of how Russia managed to counter this HIMARS and what impact this development will have on the ongoing conflict?
