Germany claims to have thwarted a coup attempt in the country in “one of the largest operations in history”. Berlin claims the pollters had allegedly planned to storm the Bundestag, the German parliament, using a small armed group. German authorities claim the suspects of the coup d’etat in Germany had planned to create a new army. German intelligence agencies have detained 25 out of more than 60 people suspected of plotting the coup on December 7. Searches were conducted in over 130 homes in 11 out of Germany’s 16 federal states.
