Ukraine has rejected an ultimatum to surrender the besieged port city of Mariupol to Russian forces. At least one person was killed in Russian shelling of residential houses and a shopping area in Kyiv. Kyiv’s Mayor Vitali Klitschko tweeted a video of an explosion in the Podilskyi district of Ukraine’s capital. Klitschko said rescue teams were putting out a large fire at the shopping centre.
