An additional $800 million drawdown package of security assistance is on its way to Ukraine. One of the distinguished arms being supplied is 200 M113 armoured personnel carriers. As Russia turns its focus on eastern Ukraine, the M113 is expected to assist Kyiv’s efforts to relocate troops and regain ground. Australia recently sent the first of 20 Bushmaster armoured vehicles to Ukraine and Britain has also promised to send 120 “Mastiff” to Kyiv. Will armoured vehicles help Ukraine repel Russia in the east?
