Israel expands ground offensive into ‘all areas’ including south of Gaza Strip

The Israeli military says it’s expanding its ground operation into “all areas” of the Gaza Strip – as its forces push further south. Hamas – which is designated a terrorist organisation in the UK, also fired rockets into central and southern Israel.

Israel issued a new evacuation order for around 20 zones in southern Gaza – while humanitarian groups warned that Gazans were running out of places to flee.

There were heavy attacks around the city of Khan Younis overnight. Local media has reported Israeli tanks on the edge of the city.
