Again! Russia Destroys 5 Ukrainian SU-27 Fighter Jets
The war in Ukraine has seen both countries targeting each other’s crucial assets. On July 2, Russia announced the destruction and damage of Ukrainian SU-27 fighter jets at the Myrhorod airfield in Poltava.
A Russian surveillance drone identified six exposed SU-27s at the airfield. Without protection like camouflage or bunkers, the jets became easy targets. Russia then launched cluster rockets and Iskander-M missiles, resulting in the destruction of five active SU-27s and damage to two under repair. Aerial footage showed explosions and smoke at the airfield.
