Reconnaissance Battalion of the Central Military District of Russia
Russia’s Ministry of Defence has posted photos of a combat mission performed by a reconnaissance battalion of the Central Military District of Russia. The battalion was previously commanded by Sergey Panov who was killed in combat. He was awarded the Hero of Russia title for sacrificing his life to save his subordinates.
Recon officers of Russia’s Central Military District speed marched to the combat mission area, where they dispersed and started looking for subversive reconnaissance units. On locating them, the Russian servicemen used gunfire and hand-held assault grenades to destroy the enemy forces.
