Russia, the world’s second-largest arms exporter, has lost over 1300 tanks, 207 planes and 174 helicopters in the Ukraine war so far. Loss of equipment, coupled with sanctions, are now giving rise to doubts about Putin’s ability to sustain the war in Ukraine. Russia even had to pull out its decades-old T-62M tanks from storage for deployment in Ukraine. Questions are now being raised about how Russia’s losses in Ukraine will impact its second-largest weapons buyer, China.
