Deng Xiaoping Biography

Deng Xiaoping , also spelled as Teng Hsiao-pingwas a Chinese politician who was the paramount leader of the People’s Republic of China from 1978 until his resignation in November 1989. After Chairman Mao Zedong’s death in 1976, Deng gradually rose to power and led China through a series of far-reaching market-economy reforms, which earned him the reputation as the “Architect of Modern China”.
