What caused the Texas Revolution? So we’re covering two wars actually, but they’re inseparable. The tensions had manifest destiny at their core, but to really understand what caused the war, and therefore all of its consequences, we have to learn what that build up in tensions was. Regardless of whether you think it was a just war, much of that consideration is without merit without understanding this deeper history. Buckle up, because I’m talking about filibusters, land laws, Amerindian depredations, the internal politics of both countries, and the tribes in-between.
