Australian S.A.S.R. & the Tizak Operation

Australian Special Operations Task Group

In June 2010, an Australian Special Operations Task Group, composed of detachments from the Special Air Service Regiment (S.A.S.R.) and the 2 Commando Regiment, launched an operation into the Shah Wali Kot Valley, in Southern Afghanistan, to disrupt enemy activity in the region. In today’s video I detail one aspect of that operation, which involved an air insertion into the village of Tizak by members of the Australian S.A.S.R. and saw the awarding of a Victoria Cross Medal.
