At the end of the Second World War, an SS commander was forced to face his firing squad on the edge of an anti-tank ditch. Paul Maitla was a Knights Cross winner inside of the German Army and he had previously fought for the Red Army as he was Estonian. But after his capture he defected to the Waffen-SS and he was a brave leader in combat, however at the hands of the Czech resistance he met his execution.
