Russia’s ally Belarus
Russia’s ally Belarus is planning to move military equipment and forces in a ‘counterterrorism’ exercise amid fears that Russia could attack Ukraine from the Belarusian border. There was no information provided on which regions would be affected or what form the exercise would take. For months, Belarus has stayed away from direct involvement in the Ukraine war but President Alexander Lukashenko has deployed troops with Russian forces near the Ukrainian border, citing threats to Belarus from Kyiv and the West.
