German Eurofighters and Patriot Systems to Guard Poland After Missile Blast

Russia-Ukraine War

Germany would send Patriot anti-aircraft systems and Eurofighter jets to “support the securing of Polish airspace”, Defence Minister Christine Lambrecht said Monday. The agreement comes as Warsaw and its NATO allies acknowledged a deadly missile explosion in the border village of Przewodow on November 15 was likely the result of Ukraine’s air defence response to a Russian attack. Meanwhile, Poland’s rapid procurement of weapons is being linked to its ambitions of becoming a European military bulwark against Russia.
