Kalibrs in Missile Assault
Ukraine’s military has claimed that its forces have regained positions in the Zaporizhzhia region. Ukraine’s military said it regained positions in Berdyansk and Melitopol areas. Ukraine said Russia launched 16 Kalibr cruise missiles, eight Kh-22 cruise missiles, six Onyx cruise missiles over the past day. Russian-installed officials claim that a teenage girl was killed due to a Ukrainian drone attack in Crimea. Putin has said he expects Russian cities, streets, schools to be named after soldiers who are fighting in Ukraine. Russian FM Sergei Lavrov said his country will never abandon the goals that were announced as part of the “special military operation”. Russia’s State Duma has passed a bill, allowing National Guard troops to use heavy military equipment, including tanks. The US has announced a new military aid package for Ukraine worth $1.3 billion, which includes 4 more NASAMS air defence systems. Zelensky has hailed US’ “unwavering” support after Washington announced the new package. Russia’s envoy to US Anatoly Antonov has said the US doesn’t have courage to admit that its plans to defeat Russia on the battlefield are failing.
